First Aid & CPR India
First aid and CPR training is regulated by law in India. Whether you are an employer, a childcare provider, or an individual who wants to be prepared, this section outlines the legal framework that applies to your region so you can make informed decisions about your training.
Workplace first aid requirements
In India, workplace first aid is governed by Factories Act, 1948 (being progressively subsumed by the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 upon commencement), administered by Directorate General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Ministry of Labour and Employment, and the State Chief Inspectors of Factories. Employers must ensure a trained first aider is available at all times.
